Why Purple Purgatory Exists
About Us – The Honest, Slightly Sarcastic Truth
Purple Purgatory started the same way most bad decisions and great ideas do — with a conversation that began, “You know what would be funny?”
I'm Danny - a lifelong Rockies fan who has endured more seasons of heartbreak than I care to count. Every spring, I convince myself “this could be the year.” By September, I'm halfway through a therapy session in the left field bleachers, wondering if maybe we should’ve picked a different hobby.
So instead of just suffering in silence, I decided to do something about it: turn our pain into wearable art.
Purple Purgatory is my place to laugh at the chaos, celebrate the few bright spots, and connect with other fans who know exactly what it feels like to love a team that… well, makes it hard sometimes.
This isn’t a corporate thing. It’s not a money-grab. It’s a small, scrappy passion project we run in our free time — between day jobs, diaper changes, and the occasional trip to Coors Field. My “team” is just me, a laptop, and the belief that laughter is the only real coping mechanism for Rockies fans.
If you’ve ever worn purple in April and felt the crushing weight of reality by September, welcome home. You’re one of us.
Wear the shirt. Share the joke. Survive the season.
